MY Book Corner

This book was introduced to me casually. I got hooked to it and wish I have found this book earlier. A really good guide book for whoever wants to start off a career in teaching or setting up preschool. Even if you are already a teacher now, it’s still good to have this book as a guide and reference. As the title stated . “not just for beginners”.

From my personal experience, I know the very first day as a teacher , can be quite intimidating. Even if you have been a teachers for years, also doesn’t mean that you are already a good teachers. I have read about some preschool teacher’s horror stories from some other mommies blogs. If only teachers can take the initiative to improve themselves, find some guidebooks to read, then there will not be so many dissatisfied parents.

So , what’s in this book?

Well, it covers classroom organization and management, understanding child development, how to motivate students, assessment and evaluation, teachers and teachers relation as well as parental involvement. It’s really an eye opener.

Some flash card like picture book for baby. 3 books in a set. The pictures in the books are as shown in the second image above.

It’s easily catch babies attention as it has sharp contrast of colors and baby can only focus well on these big pictures.

A friend is kind enough  to lend me these 2 books for baby. It’s hard to get this kind of board book and I think she gets it from Taiwan.

As we know the newborn baby’s vision is very limited. Hence, they can only focus on contrasting colors, most notably black and white. These contrasts of dark colors train the underdeveloped eyes to focus at varying depths.

I read these book to JL and she respond to it well, I notice how she focus on the pictures and wiggles her hands and legs.
